A few things most couples forget

From years of coordinating, these small moments make a big difference.

Buffer time is your best friend

Build in 15 to 20 minutes of breathing room before the ceremony. Something always runs a little late: hair, nerves, a missing boutonniere.

Steal a quiet moment after

Right after the ceremony, sneak away for 15 to 20 minutes, just the two of you. You'll want that breath before you join the cocktail hour.

Make sure you actually eat

Wait at least 20 minutes after food is served before starting speeches. Guests can eat while listening, but you won't be able to. Protect that time so you don't spend your wedding day running on empty.

Ask your photographer for a shot list estimate

Family photo combinations take longer than couples expect. Get a time estimate upfront so the cocktail hour doesn't feel rushed.

Check golden hour

If outdoor portraits matter to you, look up sunset time and plan for photos 45 to 60 minutes before. That light is magic and it doesn't wait.

Have a plan for the bar

Decide in advance when hard liquor gets put away. Keeping things light after dinner keeps the energy fun and not regrettable.
